FAQ

I limit the number of clients I take on intentionally to support a high touch, high fidelity relationship where my clients can count on me 24/7 to be fully present on demand in person or remotely.  I’ll be there wearing multiple hats, including consultant, trainer, mentor, writer, librarian, facilitator, friend, “fractional founder” and overall “running buddy” for entrepreneurship and life experience — your essential trusted advisor.

Strong business acumen is table stakes.  Being well read and well versed should be a given for any coach.  This isn’t what my clients value.

What my clients are looking for is someone they can trust to supply a no judgment zone to think out loud.  They want a person who will be there as a sounding board.  They seek a detached awareness raiser who will provide insights and outside information.  They want someone who isn’t afraid to ask questions, help set new expectations, or even challenge their thinking.  They want help to remain resilient, remind them to be courageous, and help them through the huge changes ahead that they see for themselves and those they lead.   They want someone who will run alongside them and set a new cadence for change.  These clients see new outsized growth personally and professionally capable of taking them 100 times further than what they thought was possible.

That’s the value I bring to my clients.

A regular meeting cadence throughout the year leads to the best results.  We will make adjustments depending on progress and obstacles. Generally, we will work one-on-one in person or virtually either once a week or every other week.  We will also have stimulating in person retreats once or twice a year — also one-on-one.  I will also be available for ad hoc emails and phone calls.  I can travel with you on business trips for additional support.

It really depends on how fast you want to grow.  Clients should expect to receive 5 to 7 times their investment returned to them from coaching.  What’s even more amazing is that over a quarter of coaching clients reported a stunning ROI of 10 to 49 times the cost.  So for example if you invest $1000 annually into coaching you may see $5,000 to $7,000 returned to you or maybe even $49,000.  Most of my clients are either well funded startup CEOs or they are successful business owners looking to transform themselves and the businesses.  They want outsized returns from their coaching and are comfortable paying for it.  We’ll tailor up a coaching package for you.

I offer a No Refund Policy.  There is a good reason.  My clients need to make a commitment to investing in their futures without offloading the responsibility for their emotions, experiences, and results on to me.  My clients needs to make the commitment and take full responsibility — 100% committed.  I say that success is a decision and that winning is a choice.  If you can go back on a decision to enter into coaching with me then it wasn’t a decision.  Hence I offer no refunds.  There is no escape route.  No refund contributes to your efficacy and the purity and clarity of where you are going.

My best clients have worked with me for many years and still do.   We should start with 6 months to one year as a minimum to make significant progress worthy of your investment.

The first steps center around building the coaching-client relationship so I recommend scheduling up two virtual introductory sessions of about an hour each to learn more about each other, where you want to go, and how I can help.  These two introductory sessions don’t cost anything — you and I both co-invest our time and see where that takes us.  At the same time, I send a couple of digestible emails to give a little more background on my coaching as well as more detail on how we get started.  After this I can introduce the client to references if needed. You can set up a free 30 minute introductory call as well to learn more here.

You can expect your coaching experience to involve a mix of the personal and professional, work and play, or the inspirational and perspirational.  I think that meeting up in person in unique or alternative settings away from the office or zoom room is super important.  There are many proven reasons for this method:

1) We must be vulnerable with each other and holistically work on every aspect of your goals without the daily distractions.

2) I will need to observe your world and see your environment and the patterns of behavior — this is where we will see additional limitations, self-imposed limits, and other behaviors that maybe holding you back.

3) We must grow in balance and when growing very fast (as we aspire to do together) the work will require the engagement, support, energy, and your full physical and mental resources all working in concert to achieve the courageous.  That will arrive in different contexts.

4) We have to have fun.  The more serious we get the less we learn. We learn best through “play” in new contexts.  We are more open.  We are more curious.  We are more vulnerable.  So we have to get to that place where this is fun.
